ANNOUNCE FIRST SOLO ALBUM SINCE 2012, 22KARMA
The critically acclaimed hip hop group Foreign Beggars (MCs Orifice Vulgatronand Metropolis and DJ Nonames) today make their return to the limelight with ‘Toast’ (featuring Alix Perez, Dizmack and Izzie Gibbs) and announce their first solo album project since 2012, 22Karma.
Over a staccato rhythm and bass heavy instrumental made by one of the UK’s most prolific and forward-thinking producers (Alix Perez) - Orifice Vulgatron and Metropolis make their mark on the track with their undeniably unique and flawlessly contrasting inflections. Also weighing in and showcasing their lyrical dexterity are grime MCs Izzie Gibbs and Dizmack, making a strong statement and giving an enticing taster of what’s to come from the forthcoming LP.
Slated for release February 2018, the highly anticipated album will feature artists and MCs including Izzie Gibbs, Dizmack, Kate Tempest, Kojey Radical, OG Maco, Lord Laville, Scorezayzee, Dag Nabbit, Josh Bevan, Prime Cuts, Zuand Black Josh as well as production features from some of bass music’s most sought-after producers - Alix Perez, Ivy Lab, Hyroglifics, Flux Pavilion, Feed Meand newcomer Bangzy.
Since forming in 2002, the crew have recorded an impressive five studio albums: Asylum Speakers, Stray Point Agenda, United Colours Of Beggattron, The Uprising and I AM LEGION with Dutch production wizards Noisia, released countless EPs, singles and features with major and independent labels such Sony, MOS, Black Butter, Owsla and Mau5trap, have toured the world several times and featured on Grammy winning albums.
Throughout their career, Foreign Beggars have built a steadfast reputation as one of the UK’s most versatile, creative and prolific acts through a continuing desire to push the envelope – a desire that is as urgent now as it has ever been and exemplified by 22Karma. By the very nature of the group and the array of featured artists, 22Karmapromises to be a sonically unique and skilful blend of the two worlds (urban/hip hop and underground bass/electronic) in which they have dominated throughout their career.
As a hip hop group, they have never sounded recycled or ‘American’ but represent everything that is inimitable about UK underground music.
22Karma is out February 2018 via Par Excellence.
