News: A tenth anniversary like no other - THANK YOU FROM OUTLOOK FESTIVAL

For it's 10th edition, Outlook hosted an unforgettable party with friends and fam old and new, all gathered at Fort Punta Christo. Dizzee Rascal, Outlook Orchestra, Loyle Carner, Princess Nokia, Jorja Smith, LEVELZ, Deep Medi, Kojo Funds, the Radar Radio crew and many more shone for the dedicated dancers at Outlook 2017

Outlook Festival's tenth edition was always going to be a special one, and the Outlook family have once again proved why it is the worlds biggest, baddest and most monumental bass - led event the world over. Started all those years ago by a team of promoters set to change the festival game, Outlook is now a globally revered event still ran with real heart and soul by the same crew. A big shout out is in order for all the artists, labels, collectives and crew who have been a part of the past 10 years, and everyone who made this year's edition such a magical event. Not even the rain could dampen the spirits of the crowd who came together across the four festival days.

Starting off big - Pula’s 2000 year old amphitheatre saw the legendary DJ Shadow bring an epic live show to a packed arena. A special performance of the Outlook Orchestra wow-ed crowds with artists such as Dawn Penn, Newham Generals, Horace Andy and more performed festival anthems to a full 20 piece orchestra, featuring Zagreb’s national strings, led by none other than Tommy Evans - a sure highlight for many.

The sun soaked beach stage on Thursday saw incredible live shows from the likes of Jorja Smith, first lady of reggae Dawn Penn, Manchester sounds of the Mouse Outfit, rounded off by a bolshy performance by Princess Nokia. Heading up to the fort the elements didn't stop dancers getting fully involved with the birthday celebrations, with takeovers from grime royalty Butterz at the Garden, LDN station Radar Radio at the Stables, as well as stand out live shows on the main stage from Loyle Carner.

Drum and Bass royalty held strong on the beach stage to kick off the weekend, with Brazilian DJ Marky playing one of the most energetic sets of the weekend to a packed out beach. Other highlights included a powerful takeover from the Critical Sound family, who lit up the Garden stage, with crew Kasra, Ivy Lab and more. The Voids inimitable system was put to the test by the deeper and darker sounds of Commodo, Gantz, and the rest of the Deep Medi team, with a special shout to Jack Sparrow - who has played every single year at Outlook Festival.

Saturday Swing Ting took control of the vibes on the beach all day bringing their signature sunshine sounds of bashment, dancehall, and beyond - dancers were then treated to real Jamaican music crew Equiknoxx with Shanique-Marie holding things down. Up at the Fort, GIGGS aka the Landlord himself showed everyone that he's still at the top of his game, whilst DMZ, Loefah and Sgt Pokes brought a sterling set of dubstep classics, as well as a surprise drop in from P Money, which whipped crowds into a frenzy. Across the other side of the site, Manchester's finest kept energy high with the LEVELZ posse with an all star squad including the voice of Outlook, MC Chunky.

Finishing off the celebrations in style, Lisbon's Principe squad held things down during the daytime, leading on to one of the strongest nights of music in the main arena. AJ Tracey brought his West London flow to Fort Punta Christo, whilst the Moat was taken over by a full garage crew - Wookie, Conducta, Scott Garcia and more kept hands in the air until the early hours. Hatcha and Friends filled the Void to the brim, whilst Josey Rebelle and Loefah kept it old school in the Stables.

Aside from the Fort, boat parties set sail from the harbour daily, with highlights from the full MTP family's shellings despite the rain, garage adventures with Ministry of Sound, and dub heavy soirees. The Knowledge Arena stepped things up a notch this year, and was filled with stories, history, workshops, and discussions from the likes of Zed Bias, Randall, gal-dem, Youngsta, and the founders of Outlook Festival themselves discussing the last ten years.

For the tenth year running, Outlook Festival has united music lovers from the world over, people with a shared passion for quality sound systems, a family and friends vibe, and all in one of the most unique sites on the Adriatic.
